Lucas with Dr. Jane Frederick from HRC Fertility
Last Sunday we were invited to a reunion with our IVF doctor. We didin't know what to expect but we were excited for her to meet Lucas so we went. There were hundreds of kids and even some teenagers. There were also a lot of twins, it was kind of crazy! It made me think of the other embryo that was implanted an never took, it made me think of the what if's. Life with twins would be a little nuts right now. On the other hand, part of me can't help but be a little sad about the fact that we no longer have any embryos we can use, and because of my condition (high FSH levels) we didin't qualify for the buy three get one free deal (no joke). But at the end of the day we ended up with ONE really perfect baby (on our first try) and I'm very grateful for that. In retrospect we got really super lucky.
Almost a year go we found out I was pregnant. It was a very scary and not for sure thing at first, that's why we didin't share the news for so long. A year later and I have a squirmy almost 4 month old on my lap (who refuses to go to bed and is being a total stinker). Ahh how things have changed...
The OC register wrote a little article about the event HERE. If you are interested in reading our IVF story you can find it HERE. If you have any questions about IVF, I'd be happy to help!
