First Month

I couldn't have asked for a better baby to transition into motherhood. He is mellow and sweet like his father. I expected motherhood to be hard, which it is, but I underestimated the amount of happiness this baby would bring to our family. I thought it was going to be work, work work, and no sleep. The no sleep part is true but the work is overshadowed by overwhelming love and cuteness! It feels like we've had him for much longer than a month. Lucas loves to be held and cuddled and we are enjoying this so much. Ben loves to have Lucas sleep on him. It is pretty cute to watch the bond between them two.

Lucas is such a mix between Ben and I. I love that he is a redhead yet he has dark brown eyes like me. I try to not get caught up in the things that have to get done around here and just focus on enjoying his tinyness while it lasts. I'm a lucky lady.

By the way, babies poop so much more than I expected.
