It's probably a good time we start seriously thinking about baby names since that's what everyone seems to be asking us about. Picking a name is harder than we thought in fact I'm considering setting up a survey in order to figure this out. What makes choosing a name difficult is finding a name that can be easily pronounced in spanish (my mom doesn't speak English) plus I want to make sure my family likes it. Ben on the other hand doesn't care what anyone thinks.
I asked Ben to make a list of "bilingual" names that he likes and he came up with this:
For boys
Fox
Felix
Max
Braxton
Axel
For the record, I vetoed Braxton and Axel because #1 I don't like them (no offense to anyone with those names) and #2 they are not easy to pronounce in Spanish. As for the other names...Well, I'm keeping an open mind.
Obviously, he likes names with X's in them (which I think is kinda weird).
If it's a girl, he likes the name June, I like the names Ruby and Lucia. Ruby might be a good choice for us since that's my dad and bother's nickname for Ruben, in spanish Ruby can be used for either sex, so I think we are leaning towards Ruby June. My dad is really excited about it. At least we got a girl's name down, it makes me want to find out the sex of the baby just so I don't have to think about coming up with a boy name (if it's a girl), but we are not...
Boy names I like are:
Lucas
Milo
Eli (probably Elias, which is a family name or Elijah)
Nicholas
I also like Jude and Elliot but these names are not easy to pronounce in spanish.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
P.S.
My mother in law, MaryAnn recently gave me Ben's baby blessing outfit in case we have a boy. After almost 28 years the color and everything looks perfect (the picture isn't the best). I really like the fabric, and the fact that it doesn't have pants! Perfect for a summer baby which happens to be due right around Ben's birthday.

This is the most exciting news EVER!!!!! I just found out and could not be any happier for you two. I can't wait to see what this baby looks like. Don't forget to invite me to the shower. I will be there!!!! AHHHH So Exciting!

I love your baby names ... maybe not Ben's as much, but I do like that he has a theme. Ruby is the cutest, that has my vote :)
PS we have a nephew Jude and a niece Elliot - I love them both.
Sarah what a cute blessing outfit! And, you know my favorite is Eli, and yes, I would love it if we both had little boys named Eli. ;) But... I am hoping it is a girl because I am just in love with the name Ruby June too.
